Trikala is a mountainous village in the prefecture of Corinthia. Lake Tsivlou is located in the municipality of Aigialia in the prefecture of Achaia, at an altitude of about 700 meters, on the slopes of Chelmos. It was created on 24 March 1913, when a large landslide in the area blocked the riverbed of the river Krathi. The lake has a surface area of about 8. 3 acres and a depth of about 80 metres. Around and near the lake there are the villages of Peristera, Agia Varvara and Zarouchla. The name of the lake comes from the village of Tsivlos, which was partially swallowed up after the landslide. Local tradition calls it Mavrolimni for the harm it caused.
